To whom it may concern,
I am pleased to announce that The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) is offering a matching financial award exclusively for the upcoming Spring 2019 session that will run from February 17 through May 24, 2019 for international young leaders.
This one-time award provides the opportunity for young global leaders to participate in a TWC Professional and Advanced Leadership Training Program (internship and special activities) at a significantly reduced cost. If selected, candidates will receive a matching scholarship that will cover the remaining program and housing fees. With this award, the student will be responsible for paying $7,000 USD to TWC (almost a 50% reduction of regular fees inclusive of housing and internship programming for fourteen weeks), plus additional costs such as transportation, meals, visa and health insurance.
There are twenty-five scholarships available for this fourteen-week professional training program in Washington, DC. The program is open to all majors, however, students who are pursuing careers in law, trade, economics, business, communication, international relations, finance and public policy are strongly encouraged to apply. The focus of the program will be on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness, creating an international network of young professionals to promote closer ties, dialogue, and communication between the United States and the global community, and to train the next generation of young leaders to assume key constructive roles in business, government and civil society.
In order to be considered for the award, candidates must submit a pre-qualification form inclusive of a 500 word essay on a topic of their choice that addresses how to build an international network and global dialogue on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Competitiveness -. Candidates selected for the scholarship will be required to complete a formal TWC application at a later date. This in an extremely competitive award and applications will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis. The deadline to apply is January 4th, 2019. Candidates are encouraged to apply as quickly as possible as we only have 25 available awards and once they are filled, the call for applications will be closed.

Interested candidates must be 21 to 30 years of age; enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, graduated within the previous ten months, or if graduated more than 12 months ago, need to have at least one year of professional experience in their field. Functional knowledge of English is required. Candidates who have made the shortlist will be interviewed by phone or videoconference. Committee decisions are final.
