Call for Papers

We are delighted to announce that the Sinology Department at the Goethe University, Confucius Institute Frankfurt, and Fudan University will co-host a Young Scholars’ Forum for German and Chinese doctoral students specialized in China Studies, humanities and social sciences in particular, from 13-14 November, 2020. This biennial forum is known for its friendly and inspiring atmosphere as well as the depth of discussion. It provides a platform for fledging scholars to present their works to an international audience and to communicate their peers in other universities. Domestic travel and accommodation costs (max. 2 nights) for successful applicants will be covered. If for some reason the physical workshop cannot take place, the academic exchange will be enabled by a virtual workshop.

Eligibility
Domestic doctoral students or Chinese exchange doctoral students affiliated with a university in German-speaking areas.

Application
Please send a short English abstract (ca. 300 words), together with your name, institution, year of study, dissertation title, and contact information to Eugen Pfander (ep@konfuzius-institut-frankfurt.de) by 04 Sep., 2020.

Seventeen to eighteen successful applicants will be selected by 25 Sep., 2020, and a paper of around 6,000-7,000 English words (ca. 15 pages) is due on 30 Oct., 2020.
